We’ve had enough nature for now, so we head back south to Tbilisi. We were a bit skeptical about going there. Not because of the city itself, but because of the high temperatures and the fact that cities have, so far, always been a bit tricky with Apollo. However, to our great surprise, Apollo handled the hectic and the heat of the city much better than we feared. Booking a hotel room with air conditioning was definitely a game-changer!
So we could leave Apollo in the room for a few hours each day, where he mostly slept and recovered from the exhausting hikes up in the Caucasus. And we could take some time for ourselves for a change, wander the streets of the Old Town, enjoy some wonderful coffee and a drink in the evening. It was absolutely amazing to breath some Western city energy after so many months. On the second day, even Apollo could join us and explore the city. I think when he looked down onto the city and the river fifty meter below us, when we took the telepheric back down to his favourite park, the beautiful Rike Park, he also fell in love with the city, just like us.
