TGJ Entry 55: A Short Trip to Georgia’s Kakheti Region

Wir spend a few quiet days in Tbilisi with lots of coffee and, as usual, excellent Georgian food. But there are also a few things to do and buy. For example, Apollo chewed up Svenja’s glasses when he had to stay alone in the hotel room. So we have to buy her new glasses, which is surprisingly quick. Within a few days, we can already pick up the glasses with new lenses. To sweeten the waiting time, we drive to the Kakheti region in southeastern Georgia. It was much too hot here when we were last in Georgia in August. But now the region, famous for its excellent wine, is resplendent in its autumnal glory. After a short trip to the cute little village of Sighnaghi, with its breathtaking view of the Caucasus, we head back to Tbilisi.

Afterwards, we set off westward in small steps and leave Georgia after a few days of relaxation and a few hikes in the direction of Turkey.
