Balkan Trip – Part 2: Arriving in Bosnia / Bihać

After a long, restful and definitely much-needed sleep, we break down the tents in the late morning (or rather, close the camper doors), pet a horse and four dogs and set off for Bosnia. The first border crossing fails, however, as apparently only locals are allowed to cross here in the Croatian hinterland. After a short detour and an surprisingly short wait at the border, we finally make it to Bosnia and spend a few quiet hours in the town of Bihać, just a few minutes from the border. With the weather finally very good, we take in the town and treat ourselves to a coffee and lunch with a view of the River Una before heading to the Una National Park of the same name. We leave Bihać to the southwest and the suburbs soon turn into mountainous terrain before we head west into the Una National Park.
