After our wedding, we flee for a couple of days to the Harz mountains and enjoy some peace and quiet together, as well as a nice long hike in the late summer forest. This time we hike at a lower altitude, where the damage by the bark beetle infestation from a few years back is as bad as at the Brocken, for instance. It was actually surprisingly lush, especially given the time of year and I even managed to get a nice shot of a small stream and waterfall!
